Nordic Food joins Nordic Light in Vienna

19-11-2014

Scandinavian Light and Design is an exciting yearly event that brings together 300 designers of furniture and lighting, planners, architects and decision makers and many more in Vienna. For one night, they meet under the same roof to network and establish contacts. For many, this is a golden opportunity to match-make and find interesting partners, newcomers, resellers and distributors. The event is hosted by Business Sweden in conjunction with the Norwegian and Swedish Embassies in Vienna.

The theme for SCANDINAVIAN.LIGHT.&.DESIGN 20014 is acoustic solutions with style. The silent forests of the north, the tranquil lakes – the unique peacefulness.

This year, to heighten the feeling and understanding of the qualities we call Scandinavian; a partnership has been established between the hosting organisations and the New Nordic Food Programme in order to create a multi sensorial experience.

Austrian chef Christoph Finch, in collaboration with Swedish flavour designer Vanja Franzén and visual designer Florian Tanzer has created a night of Scandinavian light, design and food.

When? 26 November, 5.30pm
Where? Studio Building of the Academy of Fine Arts Vienna (Semper Depot), Lehàrgasse 6, 1060 Vienna

Through sound, taste, sight and touch we will bring you the feeling of Scandinavia. The menu reflects typical Nordic elements such as the silence of the dense forests, the seasonal changes and the light that surrounds us day and night in summer. Juniper, elderflower, root vegetables, Norwegian salmon and wild berries are natural and regional produce that will be transformed into new, innovative and surprising dishes, significant of the new Scandinavian kitchen, as well as thinking and design.

Menu
• Warming dashi of soil and fermented mushrooms

• Juniper & elderflower fizz
• Root vegetable purees – root vegetable crisps – venison cookies
• Norwegian salmon – potato stew – fir needle
• Horseradish sorbet – blueberries – crispy cone
